First of all, I want to say this show was the very best Sean Lennon show I have ever been to. I know I keep saying that it was one of the best shows I have ever been to in other reviews, but this time, trust me. It was the best!!!

I met Japa talking to his friend at Tonic first. The previous show hadn't been finished yet, but people were already wandering around at the venue. I was talking to him about Timo's CD I borrowed and Japa told me that Timo did everything on it-singing, playing all the instruments, and he said Sean played "something" on that CD too( I don't know what happened to me, but all I can remember is either Sean played keyboard for Timo or something which sounded so unfamiliar to me.[I'll try to get back with correct info later. I promise.])!!

I also Sean before the show. He told me that he would participate in my remember/forget event later!(thank you Sean!!) I was waiting on the line with the other people and guess who appeared at Tonic! It was Yoko Ono(for whom doesn't have any basic info about Sean, Yoko's his mom) entering the venue. She was there to support her son, too.

About 12:30am, the show started. Sean said "my mom is here tonight."

Yellow Moon
Day Dream
Paper Plane
Forgettable
Sunburn
Nose Job
Don't Talk
School Bus
Spaceship
End of the World
Hamberger #1

from Shadows on the Wall

Most of the songs he played that night were the ones he played at Mercury Lounge the other day, except that he added a song called Nose Job according to the set list on the left and he didn't play Dream. He started with Yellow Moon. Before he played Forgettable, he took out a key from his pocket and talked to the staff in the venue, hey isnt it the key for your safety deposit box? I'm sorry, I tend to forget things... Actually the next song is called Forgettable,so it made the audience smile.:-)

The experimental, crazy jam part they did was a little bit longer than the one played at Mercury Lounge (or it's just me thinking that way) and more interesting, then they played Sean's cute new song, School Bus. When Sean said Spaceship would be the only song from Into the Sun, the audiences went like "uh...", and he said, "sorry."
Sean tunned his guitar several times during the show and he apologized for that, but he added, "I saw Radiohead last night." "**( must be the leader of the ,Radiohead, I wish I remembered his name..why can't I remember anything??))tunned his guitar during the show, too. if **(again whoever the person is) can do it, so can I.", I thought it was very cute.:-)

I don't remember when he did this, but after he finished one of the songs, he said "Thank you." and someone said,"Thank you." and Sean talked back, "no, no, thank you.":-) Of course, before they played my favorite new Sean Lennon song, End of the World , the audiences were scared with the title...(someone said, "oh, no!") and Sean said,"yeah, it's the last song you will ever hear." End of the World is such an awesome song. I like it a lot. It has strong guitar play and heavy sound. The song previously called Burger #1 had changed to Hambergur #1, and then right before he played the song, he said they are thinking about renaming it The Last Scene. (Sean later told me that it is his favorite new song.)

The band was more energetic than ever and especially, Timo seemed to be very into playing.(i thought, wow) I think it was one of the best time for the band themselves too and of course, for the audience as well.

After the show, Yoko gave Sean a hug and left quickly and people started gathering around Sean. I told Yuka that I really liked Sean's new songs and Yuka said the same thing. I asked her if most of the songs he played on the show would be on his next album and she said, i think so.

I looked for Timo to give his CD back. He was talking to his friends and I thanked him again for letting me listen to his new songs. He told me that he would get me the CD when it's done. Since then, I'm really looking forward to it...!:-)

*according to the Tonic program, the show was supposed to be a "birthday bash with lots of special guests." Of course, there were special guests; Yoko Ono, Miho Hatori, and Jordan Galland of Dopo Yume, but none of them appeared on the stage. I love the Tonic, it's the best small place to see a live show, but I hope what the program says sometimes are true.
